Anura Kumara Dissanayake has been President of Sri Lanka since 23 September 2024, after being elected on 22 September 2024. He has led the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) since 2014. He was Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation in 2004 and 2005.[5]
