Republic of the Union of Myanmar

gp:country/mmrComplete

The cabinet lists the President, the two Vice Presidents and the 30 Union Ministers appointed on 10 April 2026, as given in Wikipedia's table (citing Presidential Office Order 1/2026). The President's Office site could not be reached (HTTP 522) and no official list of ministers could be opened, so the ministers are sourced, not verified; the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs site confirms only the President. No later changes to the cabinet were found, but this could not be checked against an official source. Two different ministers named Ko Ko Lwin hold Electricity and Energy and Social Welfare. Military ranks and honorifics (General, Dr) are left out of names. Holders' claims to office are disputed as explained in the government note; individual ministers are marked sourced because only the fact that they hold the post is recorded.

Min Aung Hlaing

President · 10 Apr 2026 – present[3][4][5][6]

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs site names him President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. He led the 2021 military takeover and stepped down as commander-in-chief before parliament elected him president on 3 April 2026, after an election organised by the military authorities that excluded Aung San Suu Kyi's party and could not be held in parts of the country because of the civil war. According to Mizzima, the UN's updated list of heads of state of 13 April 2026 did not recognise him as president. A rival exiled National Unity Government, with Duwa Lashi La as acting President, operates in opposition to the military authorities.

Formed after the 2025-26 general election organised by the military authorities, held in phases on 28 December 2025, 11 January 2026 and 25 January 2026, in which the military-aligned USDP won a majority. DVB reports that 24 of the 30 ministers parliament approved are current or former military officers or USDP lawmakers, and that ASEAN did not recognise the election. China, India, Thailand and 20 other countries sent representatives to the swearing-in (EWN). According to Mizzima, the UN's updated diplomatic list kept its recognition of the pre-coup leadership. A rival exiled National Unity Government operates in opposition to the military authorities. Govpedia records who exercises power as the sources describe it and takes no position on legitimacy. Dates are the start of each minister’s current term in this government.
